Roloff Digital Forensics (RDF) is seeking an experienced Digital Forensic Examiner to join our team. The right candidate for this position understands proper procedures for collection, analysis, and destruction of evidence in support of cases, clients, and fellow RDF examiners.

The Qualifications

  • Ability to work 40+ hours per week as needed.
  • Ability to act as a full-time, on-call point of contact for escalation of cyber security or case incidents.
  • Experience with forensic data acquisitions using multiple imaging types and methods.
  • Experience with Microsoft, Apple, and Linux-based operating systems for general computing, tablets, and mobile devices.
  • Knowledge of forensic best practices to include chain of custody and preservation of evidence procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications to include casual email correspondence, technical reports, presentation to trials or conferences, and hearings to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Digital forensic experience with a multitude of tools to include but not be limited to: X-Ways, Forensic Toolkit, Autopsy, TSK, Encase, Cellebrite, Axiom, XRY, Lantern, Elcomsoft, etc.
  • Bonus Qualifications 
    • One or more digital forensic certifications.
    • Prior experience working in digital forensic, cell site investigations, and/or data recovery.
    • Knowledge of programming and/or scripting languages.

The Environment

Investigating electronic evidence in criminal law proceedings is RDF’s specialty. We assist criminal defense and prosecution teams to include all branches of the armed forces, attorneys in private practice, county and federal public defenders, and court-appointed defenders across the United States and overseas.

RDF is frequently retained to assist in civil cases, both for plaintiffs and defendants. The case types are diverse, but generally, include topics such as medical malpractice, forgery, fraud, identity theft, human resource and employment issues, family law, theft of intellectual property, and other business-related issues.
